Refreshing Summer Sips

Summer is here, and there’s no other way to put it: It’s hot. Thankfully, the sweet summer sippers being served up at Galleria Dallas are your keys to survival! Check out some of our favorite drinks (virgin options included) at our favorite summer hotspots.

The Second Floor

We can’t get enough of the Grilled Margarita, made with chargrilled oranges, el Jimador tequila, Combier triple sec and a squeeze of fresh lime. The smoky citrus flavor of the oranges adds complexity to the drink while the lime adds a hint of brightness. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and sour.

The Grill on the Alley

Ready for a new twist on an old favorite? Enter the Spiced Strawberry Mule, made with Bacardi Oakheart spiced rum, fresh-squeezed lime juice, fresh mint leaves and fresh mixed berries. The rum’s molasses undertones offer a perfect counterpoint to the crisp mint and sweet berries. It’s even topped with a slice of jalapeño for a spicy kick.

The Oceanaire

The Blackberry Smash is, unsurprisingly, smashing. It starts with a base of muddled blackberries and mint leaves, followed by Disaronno Originale Liqueur and Knob Creek bourbon, topped off with fresh lemon and cranberry juice. It’s the perfect ending to a long day at work or the perfect beginning to a day of leisurely shopping.

Mi Cocina

While you may associate Mi Cocina with margaritas, we recommend branching out with one of its summer mojitos — La Cubana, made with Bacardi Silver rum, muddled lime and mint, is the epitome of summer refreshment. If you’re more interested in sipping summer berries, try the Strawberry Mojito with Bacardi dragon berry rum, muddled strawberry, lime and mint. Last but not least, the Tropical Fresh Mojito is as sweet as summer itself, made with Bacardi dragon berry rum, muddled mango, pineapple, strawberry, raspberry, lime and mint. Try all three to decide which one you like best. And remember, not only is mint key to a mojito’s signature flavor, it’s also a powerful digestive aid, helping to prevent upset stomachs. Cheers!

Grand Lux Cafe

The Grand Lux Cafe has an entire menu of summer beverages, but we love the Lemon Drop Martini, made with Skyy vodka and lemonade, chilled and served up. It’s tart, smooth and perfect for recalling bygone days of neighborhood lemonade stands. Non-drinkers should try one of Grand Lux’s frozen treats such as the Hawaiian Smoothie, made with mango, passion fruit, pineapple and coconut, or the Mango Ice Swirl, a delicious blend of mango, tropical juices, raspberries and a hint of coconut. You can’t go wrong with options this right.

Stay hydrated, Dallas!
