These Are a Few of My Favorite Things… during the Holidays at Galleria Dallas

It’s been said everything is bigger here in Texas and nowhere else in the country can you see it better displayed during the holidays than from the center of the Galleria Dallas ice rink with the country’s tallest indoor Christmas Tree. Sparkling with over 450,000 lights and more than 10,000 ornaments, the tree soars 95 feet in the center of the ice rink, it’s no doubt why the tree is one of my favorite things about holiday at Galleria Dallas.

But that’s not all…

While the tree is the largest feature at Galleria Dallas during the holidays, it is only a little of the holiday activities schedule that happens at the center, beginning Nov. 9, 2013 – Jan. 4, 2014. From hand-selecting a special child’s Christmas list from the Salvation Army Angel Tree, gathering each Saturday at 6 p.m. to watch Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting Celebration with Galleria’s pyrotechnic skating Santa “Missile Toes”, or seeing  Olympic ice skating stars like Sarah Hughes pirouette under the tree, Galleria creates a memorable holiday experience!

The fun has only just begun at Galleria Dallas during the holidays! We always make plans to visit Santa for photos with the kids and this year we are excited to have a newly redesigned Dallas-themed Santa’s Village! Make sure to catch one of my kids’ favorites, the FREE Slappy’s Holiday Circus family show on the weekends But for me, nothing makes me more in the holiday mood than to hear the sounds of live holiday music with chorale singers and my favorite songs playing live through the center as I shop.

And of course, it just wouldn’t be Christmas without Galleria’s red‐suited, Santa‐inspired parking directors welcoming me as I enter the center daily.

As you can see I have a lot of favorites at Galleria Dallas, but make sure you check out the full schedule of activities and events happening throughout the holidays at Galleria Dallas.

It is! It went up on Thursday! But officially you can see the tree in all its glory at the first Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting Celebration on Nov. 29 at noon! We hope to see you there!
