Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas

March 13, 2016 - April 3, 2016

Girl Scout Cookies

Visit the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas on level one, as they launch its annual Cookie Box Creations design contest and exhibit on Sunday, March 13.

This year’s exhibit features a theme of “Explore the Outdoors” and will be on display through April 3 at Galleria Dallas. The contest is designed for Girl Scouts interested in architecture or engineering careers to develop critical thinking skills and promote cooperation and team building.

Girl Scout teams will gather with local women architects and engineers to create free-standing structures using empty Girl Scout cookie boxes. Designs will be judged by local community leaders and evaluated based on technical difficulty, creativity in design, engineering difficulty and best use of color and materials.

Judging will take place on Monday, March 14, and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Sunday, April 3 at Galleria Dallas. The public can vote on a People’s Choice Award by scanning a structure’s QR code, which will link to an online survey.

For information on how to join, volunteer, donate or reconnect to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, call (800) 442-2260 or visit www.gsnetx.org.
