A Galleria Dallas holiday preview

Galleria Dallas_lit tree_2015Each year, during the holiday season, Galleria Dallas displays the country’s tallest indoor Christmas tree. With 450,000 twinkling lights, 10,000 ornaments and 1,700 branches, this four-story tree is the highlight of the holiday shopping season! But it isn’t all about decorations and Black Friday sales. Galleria Dallas offers a full slate of holiday entertainment and experiences that will put you and your family in the Christmas spirit every time you visit.

Whether shopping for those on your Christmas list or simply picking up a new outfit for one of your holiday parties, make sure to check out the recently re-opened Zara that practically tripled in size and now offers apparel and accessories for baby/kids, women and men. And thanks to our extended holiday hours, shopping during November and December is even convenient no matter how packed your schedule is.

Next, enjoy Black Friday with Olympic gold medalists Charlie White and Meryl Davis as they ring in the holiday season at our famous Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting at noon Friday, November 27, and at 6PM Saturday, November 28. We can’t wait to see Missile Toes, the back-flipping Santa, shooting fireworks from his skates. Skating celebs Caydee Denney, John Coughlin and Alissa Czisny, among others, will also be stopping into Galleria Dallas to perform throughout December. And don’t miss our Chanukah menorah lighting on Level 1 taking place December 6 through December 14.

Is holiday music what it takes to get you in the spirit? Visit Galleria Dallas for daily musical entertainment. Whether it’s school choirs, the Uptown Carolers, Sounding Brass or the Plano Civic Chorus, the talent this year is going to blow you away. For a one-of-a-kind instrumental performance, check out a performance by the Brookhaven Handbell Ensemble Saturday, December 12, on Level 3 near Old Navy.

And what about giving a priceless gift this season? Just visit the Salvation Army Angel Tree. Starting Friday, November 6, “adopt” a child who could use a little holiday cheer. Or perhaps you’d like to touch the life of a four-legged friend this Christmas? Operation Kindness will be onsite on Level 1, near Banana Republic, from November 27 to December 24, when you can adopt a cat ($135) or a dog ($185) to join your family just in time for Christmas.

Other fun holiday activities include breakfast with Santa at American Girl, Slappy’s Holiday Circus, Dallas CityScape and, of course, a visit with Santa in his village.

Starting November 21 and lasting through Christmas Eve, bring your kids to see the man they’ve been trying to impress all year. Whether they’ve been naughty or nice, they’ll never forget the times spent at Galleria Dallas visiting with jolly ol’ Saint Nick. Find him on Level 2 near Belk.

Have you worked up an appetite yet? There’s no doubt shopping can be both thrilling and exhausting, and after a long day of marking items off your list and checking it twice, refueling with friends and family at one of Galleria Dallas’ restaurants is always a great idea. The Grill on the Alley, The Oceanaire and The 2nd Floor are all great options for family gatherings, a holiday happy hour and even corporate holiday parties.

Last, but certainly not least, make sure to head to Galleria Dallas’ Facebook page between November 23 and 30 and enter to win the “Ultimate Holiday Experience.” One lucky winner will score a one-night stay at The Westin Galleria Hotel, dinner for four at Mi Cocina, VIP access to a Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting celebration, VIP access to Santa’s Village and a $500 Galleria Dallas gift card!

Cheers to a magical holiday season!
