Holly’s Hot List January

The winter weather can be so unpredictable in Texas, but that doesn’t mean your fashion sense ever has to miss a beat. During this first full month of winter there are so many chart-topping trends that help you look haute, even when you’re feeling cold.

Shearling Accents

Shearling Accents
I love the warm, cozy look that shearling gives any item, and this year we’re seeing it on much more than just boots and booties.

I love the luxe feel that Coach gives when they do shearling outerwear. This gorgeous short shearling coat is plush and bold, but specially crafted to be lighter in weight and suitable for our more moderate Texas temperatures. I love the inside-out seams and soft suede trim, not to mention the leather-wrapped buttons, which add another chic touch.

Shearling doesn’t have to be a splurge, either. This faux shearling jacket from Banana Republic is not only a trendy topper but a great budget find, too.

Shearling makes a great accent for accessories too. I love the fun feel of this pom baseball hat from BCBG Max Azria. It is such a sporty accent for any casual look.

And, of course, shearling is beloved as a lining and trim for boots and booties. I love the bow details on these classic Bailey Bow UGG booties from Nordstrom. They’d pair perfectly with your favorite skinny jeans and are oh-so-cozy.

Cozy Wraps

While shawls and ponchos were once things you gave grandma, this year, they are not only super-stylish, but wonderfully warm.

I love the simplicity of this cape coat from Zara. The camel and charcoal grey are very sophisticated. I also love the hood detail, which is perfectly on trend.

BCBG Max Azria is the master of making a great neutral into a statement piece, and they’ve certainly done that with this multicolor striped poncho. The alternating grey and taupe makes it a wear with anything favorite!

The blanket scarf (or wrap) has become a seasonal staple in my wardrobe. The Treasure & Bond  buffalo check blanket wrap is perfect for the season and can be found exclusively at Nordstrom. The iconic black and red print is so on point, and the cozy knit is a great color accent.

Fabulous Fitness Fashions

Fabulous Fitness Fashions
Every year I resolve to hit the gym a little more, run a few extra miles, and find time to stretch at my favorite yoga class. But all of those resolutions are easier to keep when you look good, even walking into the gym.

For years, lululemon has been known for stylish yoga and running gear, and this year they’ve really upped their style quotient. I love these Wunder Under Pant ombre melange running tights. They capture the ombre trend beautifully, and really add interest to any workout look.

If you haven’t been into Gap recently to check out the new looks from Gap Body, you’ve certainly missed out! While sheer accents have been a top trend for months, Gap has really made it a stand out fitness look with these comfy asymmetrical striped leggings. They can go from home to the gym to your next outing with a chic athleisure flair.

And, I love the amazing designers that SIX:02 has been showcasing. Whether you’re seeking a sleek Stella McCartney from adidas or an art-inspired look from Ivy Park, or this chic, sweatsuit-inspired wrap up hat from Fenty by Rihanna, you’ll look red carpet inspired while working out or winding down.

Start off your new year with a resolution to stay stylish all year long – and with these fashion must finds you’ll always top the best dressed looks.
