You know, the Grammy’s have always been more about risk taking than the other awards shows, and this year was no difference!  I loved watching all the stars rock the latest looks on the red carpet, and was excited to share my take on all the glam on CBS-11 for their morning show!  I got to take on the best, worst, and, well, weirdest of all the fashions.

One of my favorite dresses of the night was Rihanna’s red Azzedine Alaia gown.  The crisscross top and cutout back made it such a standout.  She looked sexy but elegant, which is not as easy as it sounds!

Carrie Underwood looked amazing in her Roberto Cavalli strapless mermaid gown.  I loved the symmetrical lace detail on top and the sheer mermaid bottom with a touch of all-over sparkle.  And every woman can look gorgeous with a $31 million diamond necklace!

Taylor Swift showed that white can be white hot in her Grecian-style dress by J. Mendel. The silver straps and cutouts gave it a touch of sophistication, but allowed her to look young and fresh, too!

Kelly Rowland took some real risks – but I think they paid off.  She was stunning and sexy in a form-fitting black dress with sheer cutouts!

My ‘man of the night’ was Justin Timberlake.  His Tom Ford tux “suit and tie” with two-tone penny loafers gave him a classic style – just enough retro-chic to make a statement!

And what about those who FAILED to make the grade?  Katy Perry’s mint green Gucci dress was too much.  That keyhole just showed too much cleavage.  Guess she failed to get the famed CBS memo?

And while Adele stayed true to her style, the Valentino floral looked like she wore her grandmother’s curtains!  I know it’s controversial, but I think Jennifer Lopez missed the mark.  While her legs looked amazing, the dress didn’t flatter, and with her hair pulled so severely up, she really lost some femininity.  And I thought The Dream looked more like a NIGHTMARE!  I know the Grammy’s are about self-expression, but jeans and a tee shirt don’t make a Grammy look – no matter how many chains you add.

There were a couple of artists that really surprised me.  Florence Welch and her custom green Givenchy sequin gown made me scratch my head a bit.  I loved the color, but those dinosaur spikes?  While I wanted to hate it, the look actually worked for her.

Beyonce’s choices surprised me.  The geometric pantsuit looked amazing on her, but it doesn’t seem glam enough for this diva at the Grammy’s.

Overall, it was a night for stars to shine, and they sure did!  I’ve been excited to see many of these trends hitting stores at Galleria Dallas, too!
